Week 6 was the kind of slate that reminds you why fantasy football is equal parts thrill and headache. A 1–4 underdog knocked off a 4–1 contender, injuries shuffled depth charts in real time, stars posted head-scratching duds, and a wave of second-year wideouts finally broke through. In the recap below, you’ll find a clean, game-by-game breakdown with box-score context, for every key performer, snap shares where committees mattered, and clear takeaways you can use for waivers and start/sit calls. With several young playmakers gaining momentum, the season’s middle third is here—and it’s about to separate the contenders from the pretenders.

PHI 17 @ NYG 34

Eagles: Trailing most of the afternoon, Jalen Hurts piled up 283 yards (26/41) with 1 TD/1 INT and added 38 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace. Dallas Goedert led the way (7/110/1) while A.J. Brown turned 6 targets into 5/67/0. DeVonta Smith disappointed (3/31/0). The run game stalled (team 20–83–0). Fantasy takeaway: Goedert’s role spikes in negative scripts, but the pass-catch pecking order remains Brown → Goedert → Smith.

Giants: Rookie QB Jaxson Dart looked the part with 276 yards (22/33), 2 TDs, 1 INT and 39 rushing yards, repeatedly extending plays. Cam Skattebo handled the grinding work (19–98–3) and dominated goal-line carries. Wan’Dale Robinson resurfaced (7/84/0) while Theo Johnson regressed (2/21/0). Fantasy takeaway: Skattebo’s goal-line usage is bankable RB2 volume, and Dart’s mobility is keeping the offense on schedule.

DEN 13 @ NYJ 11 (London)

Broncos: One of the ugliest fantasy games in recent memory. Bo Nix managed 174–1–0 passing, and the only TD went to Nate Adkins (2/23/1). J.K. Dobbins (14–40–0) and Courtland Sutton (1/17/0) were quiet as Denver leaned on defense (9 sacks). ESPN.com+1

Jets: Justin Fields went 9/17 for 45 yards and took 9 sacks (minus-10 net pass yards). Breece Hall churned (22–59–0), but no one got home. Garrett Wilson (3/13/0) exited and, per reports, hyperextended his knee and is expected to miss a couple of weeks. Stream elsewhere until this offense stabilizes. ESPN.com+2Reuters+2

CLE 9 @ PIT 23

Justin Guido/Post-Gazette

Steelers: Veteran Aaron Rodgers efficiently steered the ship, while the backfield was a true committee: Jaylen Warren (53% snaps), Kenneth Gainwell (34%), Kaleb Johnson (19%). Warren out-touched but both backs featured; DK Metcalf delivered a strong day as the clear alpha. The defense smothered the Browns. Fantasy takeaway: Warren and Gainwell are both flex-viable; the snap split matters in lineup calls. Footballguys

Browns: Rookie Dillon Gabriel looked like a rookie under heat (50+ attempts, no TDs), and Quinshon Judkins turned in his first dud as the Browns played from behind. With David Njoku in and out (knee), Harold Fannin Jr. stepped up and is a priority add if Njoku sits. Dawgs By Nature

LAC 29 @ MIA 27

Chargers: Justin Herbert rallied late (efficient second half) while Kimani Vidal seized the backfield (100+ rush yards in first start) and looks locked in as RB1 while Omarion Hampton is out. Ladd McConkey popped with Quentin Johnston sidelined; Keenan Allen underwhelmed. PFF

Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa threw 3 INTs, undoing a strong day from De’Von Achane (explosive again). With Tyreek Hill out, Jaylen Waddle acted like a WR1, and Darren Waller found the paint. Fantasy takeaway: Achane’s efficiency is matchup-proof; Waddle’s target share is sticky with Hill sidelined. Baltimore Ravens

NE 25 @ NO 19

Patriots: Drake Maye stayed hot (18/26, 261, 3 TD) and even led them in rushing (32 yards). Kayshon Boutte (5/93/2) shined on his return to Louisiana, while DeMario Douglas added a 53-yard TD (another long TD called back). The run game was inefficient: Rhamondre Stevenson 13–18–0; TreVeyon Henderson 9–27–0. Snap share at RB: Stevenson 72% vs Henderson 30% (46 vs 19 offensive snaps). Final takeaway: Maye is ascending; Stevenson’s role remains secure despite the YPC. Los Angeles Rams+2Pats Pulpit+2

Saints: Not many weekly locks here. Alvin Kamara’s usage is fine but TD chances are scarce; Kendre Miller continues to chip away. Chris Olave keeps producing without finding the end zone. Juwan Johnson cooled off; Taysom Hill resumed vulture duties. Fantasy takeaway: Olave is a volume WR2; Kamara is a floor RB2 until the offense improves. Los Angeles Rams

LAR 17 @ BAL 3

Rams: Matthew Stafford struggled; Kyren Williams was steady, but Davante Adams disappointed despite 9 targets. Puka Nacua exited with an ankle; he’s day-to-day. If Nacua sits in London, Adams projects for WR1 usage. Fantasy takeaway: stash Tyler Higbee in TE-premium formats if routes rise sans Nacua. ESPN.com

Ravens: Without Lamar Jackson, the offense sputtered. Derrick Henry rebounded (24/122) but Zay Flowers struggled (fumble). Mark Andrews may be droppable. Early reporting suggests Lamar should be back after the bye.

ARI 27 @ IND 31

NFL.com

Cardinals: With Kyler Murray out, Jacoby Brissett kept it close. Backfield = committee: Bam Knight (51% snaps) handled short yardage and scored; Michael Carter (44%) took early downs; Emari Demercado mixed in lightly (4%). Trey McBride posted his best game this season (8/72/1); Marvin Harrison Jr. left in concussion protocol (monitor; early timetable suggests ~7 days). Fantasy takeaway: fade this backfield until Trey Benson returns. Footballguys

Colts: Daniel Jones delivered a clean showing, Jonathan Taylor did Jonathan Taylor things, and TE Tyler Warren looked the part again. Michael Pittman Jr. was a surprise dud (3 targets), while Josh Downs was steady. Fantasy takeaway: Warren’s usage keeps him in the streaming TE1 mix. ESPN.com

SEA 20 @ JAX 12

Seahawks: Sam Darnold kept the offense efficient while the WR room ran through Jaxon Smith-Njigba, (8/162/1)who continued a record-chasing start. The backfield remains a headache: Zach Charbonnet (60% snaps) out-snapped Kenneth Walker III (35%) again, and both were quiet. Fantasy takeaway: JSN is a locked-in WR1; Charb/Walker are matchup-dependent FLEX plays. Field Gulls+1

Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence didn’t add the rushing layer he showed vs. KC, and Travis Etienne Jr. faced stacked boxes behind a line bullied by Seattle. Rookie Brian Thomas Jr. bounced back (had a 50+ yard TD wiped out), while Travis Hunter was quiet. Fantasy takeaway: Etienne remains volume-proof, but the pass game’s week-to-week ceiling hinges on protection. Jacksonville Jaguars

DAL 27 @ CAR 30

Cowboys: Dak Prescott was sharp, but Javonte Williams let managers down. George Pickens detonated for a monster game (9/168/1). Jake Ferguson salvaged his line with a TD. Fantasy takeaway: Pickens’ weekly ceiling is top-5 when the deep shots connect. ESPN.com

Panthers: Rico Dowdle kept the heat on this backfield after another nuclear week(30/183 , 4/56/1), and Bryce Young tossed 3 TDs. Rookie Tetairoa McMillan scored twice. Fantasy takeaway: Will be interesting to see the split when Chuba Hubbard returns to the lineup

TEN 10 @ LV 20

Titans: Tony Pollard struggled; Tyjae Spears looked sprier and deserves a bigger slice. Calvin Ridley left early with a hamstring (likely to miss time), and Van Jefferson flashed—deep-league watch-list only for now. Fantasy takeaway: Spears is the add; Ridley managers should prepare contingencies. ESPN.com

Raiders: Low-volume day for Geno Smith, but Ashton Jeanty found the end zone. With Brock Bowers out, Michael Mayer produced and is a viable streamer if Bowers remains sidelined. Jakobi Meyers still can’t get in rhythm with Geno; Tre Tucker was solid. ESPN.com

SF 19 @ TB 30

49ers: Spot-starter Mac Jones finally took his first loss in relief. Christian McCaffrey was his usual elite self, Kendrick Bourne stayed heavily involved even with Jauan Jennings back (Jennings 1 catch). George Kittle should return in Week 7 alongside possibly Brock Purdy. Fantasy takeaway: Bourne remains a usable WR3 while injuries persist. ESPN.com

Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield continues a sneaky MVP-ish arc, Rachaad White delivered, and rookie Emeka Egbuka left with a hamstring (early expectation: 2–3 weeks). The Bucs could get Mike Evans back as soon as this week, which would be timely if Chris Godwin also sits. Fantasy takeaway: bump White and Cade Otton for target share if both WRs rest. ESPN.com

CIN 18 @ GB 27

Bengals: Joe Flacco held up fine given the circumstances. Chase Brown again looked like the more efficient runner but game script capped rush volume. Ja’Marr Chase produced with a highlight TD; Tee Higgins logged his best line of the season—encouraging. Fantasy takeaway: Higgins is a buy-low if someone’s impatient. ESPN.com

Packers: Jordan Love didn’t have to do much thanks to Josh Jacobs’ “flu game” heroics, carrying the offense. Matthew Golden capitalized on limited looks, Romeo Doubs drew heavy targets but delivered a middling box score, and Tucker Kraft turned 2 targets into a TD. ESPN.com

DET 17 @ KC 30 (SNF)

Lions: Jared Goff was efficient (23/29, 203, 2 TD) and almost had a receiving TD on a trick play that was waved off. Jahmyr Gibbs dominated work (17–65, 1/0 receiving); David Montgomery handled 4 carries. Sam LaPorta stayed hot (5/55/1), Jameson Williams delivered (6/66/1), while Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 9 for 45. RB usage: Gibbs 69% snaps vs Montgomery 31%. Fantasy takeaway: Gibbs’ every-down role is here; Montgomery is TD-dependent. ESPN.com+1

Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes was surgical (22/30, 257, 3 TD) and didn’t need heroics. Isiah Pacheco had 12–51 on the ground while Hollywood Brown turned 4 targets into 4/45/2. Travis Kelce (6/78/0) led between the 20s and rookie Xavier Worthy added a score. Rashee Rice returns next week, adding another mouth to feed. Fantasy takeaway: Brown’s red-zone role is sticky; Worthy is a boom/bust WR3. ESPN.com

BUF 14 @ ATL 24

Bills: Josh Allen wasn’t himself (2 INTs), and James Cook had a middling line. With Dalton Kincaid out, no pass catcher separated. Fantasy takeaway: chalk this up to a rough matchup; buy the dip on Allen.

Falcons: Bijan Robinson put on a prime-time clinic (19/170/1 , 6/68), and Drake London erupted (16 targets, 10/158/1). Michael Penix Jr. avoided mistakes. Fantasy takeaway: this is the Falcons offense we wanted—Bijan RB1, London WR1 usage.

CHI 25 @ WAS 24

Bears: Caleb Williams turned in a composed road win and added a rushing TD. D’Andre Swift came through in a big way as a runner and receiver; the WR group largely disappointed. Fantasy takeaway: Swift is back to every-week RB2 status with RB1 spikes in wins.

Commanders: Jayden Daniels was fantastic, but a botched exchange doomed the late drive. Bill Croskey-Merritt got the volume but didn’t cash it in; Zach Ertz turned back the clock; Deebo Samuel let us down. Fantasy takeaway: Daniels remains a top-12 QB for fantasy because of dual-threat juice.

Injury Round-Up That Affects Fantasy

  • Garrett Wilson (Jets) — knee hyperextension, not serious; expected out a couple of weeks. Plan contingencies. Reuters
  • Puka Nacua (Rams)ankle, listed day-to-day. Monitor practice reps; Davante Adams projects for a volume bump if Puka sits.
  • Marvin Harrison Jr (Cardinals)Concussion 7 day time timetable. May not miss additional time. No dip if active this week

Final Word

Week 6 reminded us why this game tilts tables and tests patience. A 1-4 team smashed a 4-1 team, injuries forced emergency pivots, and a handful of formerly quiet second-year receivers finally erupted. Your edge comes from reacting to usage and roles faster than your league-mates—not box-score points alone. Lean on the snap shares above, upgrade players whose roles are expanding (Vidal, Boutte, JSN), and be ruthless about benching name brands whose usage isn’t matching reputation.

Set waivers with a clear head, keep an eye on practice reports, and let Week 6 be the reminder: fantasy is a rollercoaster—you win by riding it better than everyone else.
